St. Anna and St. Joachim Church in Suchy Dąb

The church on a hill above the left bank of the Motlawa Pierwotna River. The temple in Suchy Dąb was built by the Teutonic Knights in the second half of the 14th century and served the Catholics until the mid-16th century. Around 1560 the church was taken over by the Protestants and remained in their hands until 1945. In 1732 a tower made of Prussian wall was added. In the spring of 1945 the church was completely destroyed by the Soviet army. Only the building of the neighbouring with the church Pastorówka has been preserved, where in 1948 the chapel of St. Anne was arranged and solemnly consecrated, as a branch of the parish of St. John the Baptist in Giemlice. Burned in 1945, it was rebuilt after the war and now is the seat of St. Anne and St. Joachim parish. Next to the church a baroque bell from the second half of the 18th century was hung. Near the church there is a parsonage from the second half of the 18th century, with preserved Baroque details (staircase, door joinery with fittings and hinges). The building is located in the community of Suchy Dąb.
